Painting a 157 Year-Old Home in Winters with Farrow & Ball Paint

Project Spotlight
Brooks Painting just wrapped up a 5-week project painting the interior of Park Winters. This home was originally built in 1865, and it still maintains a lot of the original charm. We were hired by SNW Construction in conjunction with the owners of Park Winters to work on this project while the venue closed down from Christmas until the end of January. It's a very popular and beautiful wedding venue, and boutique bed and breakfast in Yolo County. We were honored to have been trusted with this 157 year-old home, and we were excited to add this project to our portfolio.
What started as a smaller project, quickly morphed into painting the entire inside of the historic home. The owner requested we use Farrow & Ball paint for this project. Farrow & Ball is a British manufacturer of paints and wallpapers largely based upon historic color palettes and archives. The company is particularly well known for the unusual names of its products. This was our first time using this paint, and it was a pleasure to work with. The colors are rich and have a depth that is simply amazing. This paint brand is not readily available as their only local store is in Berkeley. However, the staff was easy to work with, and we easily got our paint shipped to the job site in three days.
Our Crew Leader, Mark, did an amazing job balancing the growing scope of work, added staff, and other trades. With the venue being closed for just five weeks, we had to efficiently work alongside many other trades during throughout the project. It is not an easy task to have a nice paint finish when others are creating dust or are in your way. Mark handled the stress with poise, and he and his crew produced a quality paint job.
