Painting Interiors on a Budget
We know that home projects are not cheap, and we at Brooks Painting are more than happy to paint your entire interior. But what if that is outside of your budget? Here are a few tips to help mitigate some of the cost.
1. Paint the Trim Yourself - While painting baseboard, crown molding, or door casings isn’t the most fun thing to do, it is a lot easier when you don’t have to worry about cutting in a straight line. By painting the trim beforehand, you can paint with less precision, knowing that our painters will come in after you and cut a nice edge.
2. Skip the Ceilings - Unless you truly need to change the color of your ceilings, they often do not need to be painted with the walls. Of course, there are instances where there are cracks or water marks; but often they just need a good cleaning.
3. Have the Rooms Empty - The more furniture that needs to be moved and masked off, the less time our painters have for painting. Try and empty out the rooms, remove your window treatments, and have your spaces as bare as possible during your project. It will help maximize time and efficiency.
4. Paint Your Interior in The Winter - Summer is busy for all contractors. While we still paint the exterior of homes during the Winter months, interior painting is ideal. You don’t have to worry about the weather, and because of this, we often offer a Winter discount.
