Can You Paint An Exterior House in Davis CA During the Winter
If you are considering if it is ok to paint the exterior of your home during the winter months and live in Davis or a surrounding city or community, I hope to shed some light on this question below.
The short answer to this question is this: if the weather cooperates with the painters, then yes, it is safe and ok to paint during the winter months.
We do not have extreme temperatures like parts of the midwest and northeast. In those regions, most painting companies stop painting exteriors right around Thanksgiving. These companies typically paint only interiors until late March. Where their exterior seasons are typically 7-8 months, we in the Sacramento County areas have a bit more flexibility to paint outdoors.
What About When It Rains or Freezes?
Well, if you are from this area, you know that Dec-Feb can be very wet months. As I write this blog in December, we are having daily temperatures of 55-60 and lows at night of 40s and sometimes 32. The main thing that a professional painting company will do is keep a watchful eye on the temperature and make sure the paint used on your property will adhere properly to your home's exterior.
If there is a good chance of rain, fog or even freezing nights, these are not the best days to paint an exterior. Yet if there is not drastic changes in the weather and it does not rain for a number of days, sometimes a complete exterior can be painted!
