Colorful Expression For A Neighborhood

I have a customer in Winters, CA that has a very nice home that is in need of an exterior repaint. The interior colors are bold, and express the homeowner’s love of color. So when given the opportunity to select color for the exterior, they went bold again.

The home has siding in the front, wrapping around just a few feet on both sides with stucco everywhere else. The homeowners chose Kelly-Moore paints and selected a vibrant yellow called Tawny Daylilly for the stucco. On the siding in the front, they chose an equally vibrant green called Elf Slippers. The yellow went on all the eaves and the trim color selected was a soft accent color called Cream Cake. The front door is the kicker, using a wild orange-red called Rebel Red. Finally, the perfect complimentary color was selected for the decking, which was previously a cedar stain, but was changed to a dark grey solid stain.

The home no longer disappears into the street like all the other homes in the neighborhood. It makes a statement about the homeowners; vibrant and cheerful. A one in a million! It’s not something that I embrace regularly, but every once in a while I work with couples that want to do something out of the ordinary, and for this couple, it was the right choice.

We chose Brooks Painting based on their excellent reputation. It was an excellent choice! We had them do a complete exterior and almost complete interior painting of our two story house. They were done separately, while we were out of town. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. They even fixed up a few mistakes made by a crew that painted a portion of our interior ceilings a month prior (removal of asbestos popcorn ceiling), at no extra charge. Cleanup was great, also. They repaired some dry rot that was uncovered (extra charge, but worth it), and they even moved furniture back into place as well as put back the curtain rods that I had taken down, which wasn't expected. I highly recommend them, and will use them again for any future paint jobs.
