Never Too Late
When we start approaching the fall season a popular questions is, “when is it too late to paint the exterior of my home?”. “It’s never too late to paint,” I like to say. Protecting your home’s exterior is an all year round to do list and most likely is your biggest investment. Even if you can’t have a full exterior repaint done before cold and rainy weather is coming, at least weatherize your home. It’s a good idea to fill gaps between the windows and joints to keep water from penetrating to the inside of your home. Scrape peeling areas or exposed raw wood. Have all repairs not only primed but painted as well, even if the color isn’t a good match. You don’t want to have primer exposed to the elements and be unpainted, this will cause the primer to breakdown prematurely. Most of the time the south side of the home takes the brunt of bad weather and you can get this painted first to help budget your available expenses. If this is helpful to your finances, at least start having the exterior of your home done in phases from worst to best sides, but this will usually cost more than having all of the home exterior done at the same time. Brooks Painting does offer a “Painter for the Day” Program for customers for this exact reason. The opportunity to have a little work done at a time to help maintenance your home and stretch the dollars can save you money later on much costlier repairs. Also keep in mind during the cooler months of the year, Brooks Painting offers the best discounts to keep our employees working all year round. So when most people are thinking the cooler months are a time not to paint, you’re reaping the benefits in many ways by doing so.
So again, it’s Never Too Late to paint or maintain your home all year round. You should be thinking of your home exterior in the cooler months even though it goes against what you may have heard or been taught. Remember years ago homes were painted with oil base paints and that was a big reason why exteriors were not painted. Times have changed and paints have too. Call Brooks Painting for a “Painter for the Day” to get those small projects done today.
