Senior Scam Stopper Seminars

The California State License Board recognizes that senior citizens are often a vulnerable audience that are taken advantage of by unethical contractors. The CSLB offers “Senior Scam Stopper Seminars” regularly. These seminars provide information about how seniors can protect themselves from unscrupulous contractors and provide information about contractor scams. They also cover topics such as identity theft.

There is a seminar October 30, 2013 in Fairfield, CA. For more information and dates of seminars, visit http://www.cslb.ca.gov/Consumers/seniorscam_2.asp.

Remember to always hire a licensed contractor and verify their status on the CSLB website. It is also a good idea to check the Better Business Bureau for any history of complaints. Also, listen to your gut! If something seems "off", it probably is.
