Garage Doors in Roseville Rescued
Saving Garage Doors with Paint
Recently we helped a homeowner with his metal garage doors. They were in such poor condition that he was considering replacing them. Facing southwest, they really took a beating from the sun. The faux carriage doors were badly oxidized and were an eyesore for the upscale gated community where he lived.
The Painting Process
The homeowner no longer wanted the carriage door look but just wanted them painted in a color that complimented the stucco. Over three days, we followed the proper steps and used the right products to ensure that the doors would look beautiful for years. We started out by cleaning them with a metal etching solution on the first day. The second day was spent priming with a metal primer and applying two coats of a marine water-based acrylic coating in French Roast by Sherwin Williams. The final day was spent topping it with a acrylic marine clear coat that provides excellent gloss retention and extends the weathering properties and protects the finish. The results speak volumes.
Using all the right products is so important to getting the desired results. Hiring a professional that knows what products to use and how to use them ensures that the job will get done right. We saved the homeowner from spending a lot more money on replacing the doors and he’s now proud to show off his beautiful home to his neighbors.
