Dry erase coatings have become more and more popular as people are learning this product is available. Brooks Painting is an approved applicator for Tabrasa dry erase coatings by Idea Paint sold through MDC wall coverings and has been hired many times directly to apply their product. Many times MDC wants clients to see the benefits of their product and has Brooks Painting paint dry erase boards for new potential clients; i.e. Architects, Engineers, Tech companies and marketing companies. The Tabrasa product is very durable, cleans easy and has a lifetime warranty. There product does come in five different colors for a designer room look. Tabrasa also makes a water base and solvent base product for different application needs. The water base is a low odor opposed to the solvent base coating for confined spaces where odor or the solvent might be an issue.

A Clear Dry Erase Coating

Sherwin-Williams has a new Dry Erase product simply called Dry Erase Coating. This product is a clear dry erase coating that can go over any wall color to hide the look of a white board in any room. If you have a high end conference room and nicely decorated area you don’t want the dry erase board look but advantages of having one, this is a great choice. Sherwin-William’s Dry erase Coating is low odor, leaves no ghosting and wipes clean every time.

These are both great products, but keep in mind they are mainly sold to contractors approved to apply the products. Applying these type of coatings are not recommend for the DIY user and can be very tricky to apply depending on the area of application and wall finish. Dry Erase Coatings are expensive, so when you make a mistake applying the product it can be a costly fix and in most cases will need to be coated.

We chose Brooks Painting based on their excellent reputation. It was an excellent choice! We had them do a complete exterior and almost complete interior painting of our two story house. They were done separately, while we were out of town. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. They even fixed up a few mistakes made by a crew that painted a portion of our interior ceilings a month prior (removal of asbestos popcorn ceiling), at no extra charge. Cleanup was great, also. They repaired some dry rot that was uncovered (extra charge, but worth it), and they even moved furniture back into place as well as put back the curtain rods that I had taken down, which wasn't expected. I highly recommend them, and will use them again for any future paint jobs.
