Elevate Your Space with Sherwin-Williams' 2024 Color of the Year!

All Photos by Sherwin-Williams

Each year, Sherwin-Williams establishes the tone for interior design with its Color of the Year selection, and 2024 is no exception. Say hello to 'Upward' – a shade that effortlessly combines sophistication and tranquility, promising to elevate any space!

Sherwin-Williams describes 'Upward' as a calming, ethereal blue that invites a sense of contemplation and introspection. This shade is a breath of fresh air, like clear blue skies on a perfect day. Brooks Painting is deeply invested in the world of colors and design, so we are excited to explore the potential of 'Upward' in transforming your interiors.

Versatility in Design:

Whether your style is modern, traditional, or somewhere in between, Upward seamlessly integrates into any design scheme. When paired with warm neutrals, it creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. In contrast, combining it with crisp whites and metallic accents brings a touch of modern sophistication to your space. To add a touch of drama, consider pairing it with deep, rich tones like charcoal or navy. Its adaptability makes it a fantastic choice for accent walls, furniture pieces, or even as a fresh coat for your front door. The possibilities are endless!

Soothing Sophistication

Upward's calming presence makes it an excellent choice for spaces where relaxation is key. Consider using it in bedrooms, living rooms, or reading nooks to create a mini-getaway from everyday life. Its cool undertones offer a refreshing backdrop that pairs beautifully with both light and dark accents.

The Power of Accessories

Don't feel like repainting an entire room? No worries! 'Upward' can make a significant impact when used as an accent color. Consider using it for decorative elements like throw pillows, curtains, or even a statement piece of furniture. It's a subtle yet effective way to incorporate this trendy hue into your existing decor.

Hiring Brooks Painting was an easy and professional process the whole way through, from the estimate to the completion of having my very high walls edged, where I was unable to reach them. Crew Leader Eric was prompt and super capable, which was a relief since he had to maneuver and climb a very tall ladder. He was also in the process of teaching a newer painter and I admired his positive and encouraging manner. In addition, he was willing to respond to my requests with ease. No regrets here! The edging looks amazing and only took 4 hours to complete.

Very professional, I appreciate the time they took to make sure everything was taken care of for my house! I really liked that Jaime stepped up and told me not to paint my front door like the house and then chose a color that worked great. Thank you!

Brooks Painting has be in business a long time in our area. As a native resident we have seen and heard of their professional & quality painting. In looking for bids on painting our house Brooks was referred numerous times. When Jeremy came out to meet us we were sold on using their services and looked no further. Every aspect of this company was very upfront, professional and made us feel safe, valued and comfortable hiring them. The office staff kept good communication with us. The color matching was perfect. The crew showed up on time, were respectful and did a great job from prep to the final end of the project. The warranty offered was a plus and the liability coverage gave us peace of mind also. The price was well worth all that was included in the project so we had little to do but move our stuff away from the house. Thank you Brooks painting, crew and staff for making our home new again :)

Eric and his crew were on time every day and did a very thorough job. I was thrilled that they were willing to paint my outdoor light fixtures which were getting rusty. I was particularly impressed how much time they spent going over their work at the end to catch spots that were missed. I’ll be using them again for interior painting.

We chose Brooks Painting based on their excellent reputation. It was an excellent choice! We had them do a complete exterior and almost complete interior painting of our two story house. They were done separately, while we were out of town. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. They even fixed up a few mistakes made by a crew that painted a portion of our interior ceilings a month prior (removal of asbestos popcorn ceiling), at no extra charge. Cleanup was great, also. They repaired some dry rot that was uncovered (extra charge, but worth it), and they even moved furniture back into place as well as put back the curtain rods that I had taken down, which wasn't expected. I highly recommend them, and will use them again for any future paint jobs.

The crew is as neat and reliable as the actual painting job and paint used. No boom boxes!! Cordial staff spoke English. The crew got along with each other and worked as a team. The actual finish is / was beautiful. We would like to use Brooks again!

Brooks did a fantastic job on our exterior and interior paint jobs. Quality was high, price was reasonable, and the team was extremely professional and detail-oriented. Mark was our crew lead and the team performed a number of exterior wood repairs, a door re-stain, interior and exterior painting. Mark clearly takes a lot of pride in his work and went above and beyond to ensure the work was high-quality, including finding exact matching siding to fix dry rot, and performing minor repairs that weren't even included in the quote. He and the team were all consistently positive and personable, joking with each other throughout the day, while also genuinely complimenting each other on the quality of their work. It was great to see, and that positivity definitely showed through the work they did. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

I wanted to have my kitchen cabinets painted but knew that that was a job that required skill and expertise. I called Brooks Painting and the experience from start to finish was perfect! Everyone I dealt with was personable and good at their jobs. They spent time answering questions, explaining the exact process, and did the work precisely as promised. They even did a few other small jobs (repairing and painting 2 water damaged ceilings) to perfection. And everything was neat and clean when they left! And the cabinets – better than I could have hoped for. Esteban is a master craftsman who was meticulous in every aspect of his work. The finish is smooth as glass with no imperfections. I couldn’t be happier!
